I'm beyond excited to introduce the new tailored women's cut and sew shirts. The men's cut and sew shirts were the first of The Underdog Co's new tailored silhouttes. These new silhouettes were created to replace standard wholesale shirts for the brand. My main goal was to design shirts that would provide a flattering fit for both athletic and non-athletic body types, which is difficult to find in the streetwear and indie apparel industries. People with curvy bodies, like mine, are often alienated by apparel industry on both the commercial and independent levels. Even more so in the streetwear industry. I wanted to change that by creating something that won't make you cringe in the mirror.
The new tailored women's cut and sew shirt is a minimal, modern take on a classic silhouette. The elongated body and scalloped hem provide a cleaner look, while side slits add a functional element to help the shirt lay flat along women's distinct curves. The slightly tapered torso provides a flattering fit to waist and hips, and the added length provides peace of mind by providing full coverage. Longer sleeves address the underarm agitation that is consequential to many fitted women's t-shirts. The banded collar ensures the shirt will lay flat around the neck, avoiding the rippling collar as the piece ages. Every little detail was considered for a superior fit and comfort, for every woman.
All of the pieces were designed and manufactured in limited quantities between Portland and Seattle.
